TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION :

The VES 8034 Fibre Optic / AUI / THINNET Repeater uses the latest technology to provide an economical solution for the of an Ethernet segment or fibre link to an AUI interface

The Fibre link conforms to the Fibre Optic Inter Repeater Link standard ensuring compatibility with any other device operating to this standard. The fibre links may be up to 2km and be of fibre diameter from 50/125 to 100/140.
The repeater performs all the functions expected on an IEEE 802.3 Repeater:
Preamble reconstitution , Partition recovery on segment fault correction
Data retiming , Auto – partitioning on segment fault.
Fragment extensions
The unit is designed for optimum power efficiency and does not require assisted cooling, this coupled with its compactness allows the unit to be easily mounted on walls using VolAmp wall mounting brackets BRKT-1. The isolation and immunity provided by Fibre Optic Repeaters is such that it is common practice to isolate buildings via Fibre Optic cables and Repeaters thus avoiding earth loop effects and the hazards of lighting strikes etc.
