TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION :

The VES 8038 Fibre Optic / THINNET Repeater uses the latest technology to provide an economical solution for the connection two thin wire networks with fibre optic cable.

The repeater performs all the functions expected on an IEEE 802.3 Repeater:
Preamble reconstitution
Fragment extensions
Data retiming
Auto – partitioning on segment fault.
Auto recovery on fault correction

The unit is designed for optimum power efficiency and does not require assisted cooling, this coupled with its compactness allows the unit to be easily mounted on walls using VolAmp wall mounting brackets BRKT-1.
The isolation and immunity provided by Fibre Optic Repeaters is such that it is common practice to isolate buildings via Fibre Optic cables and Repeaters thus avoiding earth loop effects and the hazards of lighting strikes etc.
