TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION:
The VolAmp 100 FU converts from copper to fibre medium without introducing any significant delay or data modifications other than that required by the relevant standards.

SPECIFICATION :
Twisted pair port

The 100 FU accepts a standard 100 Tx input and converts to a standard 100 Fx output and vice versa. The unit will auto negotiate for full or half duplex operation, this is set by a front panel switch. If the system driving the converter has been forced to work in 100M then the unit will set up in a half duplex manner as required by the IEEE standards.
An indicator shows the duplex mode that the converter is actually working in.
A switch is provided to swap the transmit - receive pairs such that the unit can operate in either DCE or DTE mode. Fibre optic port. The unit conforms to the 100Fx standard and will communicate with any equipment, which also conforms to the 100Fx standard.
Auto negotiating is not possible on standard Fx systems, but the unit will be set to work in the required mode by the front panel switch. The mode is detected on power up. Unit must therefore be powered down to change mode.
