TRANSCIEVER
Obsolete
FEATURES :
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION :
The VES 8055 is an economical compact transceiver
which provides an inexpensive mean of connecting to an Ethernet local Area network.
Three versions are available, using the same body
but with different taps.
AMP TAP – This is used to make attachment to Thick Ethernet (10BASE5) A pin pierces the outer shething of the cable to make contact with the central conductor whilst two other taps make contact with the cable screen. T his tap can be installed or removed whilst the network is up and running without causing disruption
N CONNECTOR – This is used to make attachment to Thin Ethernet (10BASE5). The Transceievr is fitted with two Female N type connectors at each side which mate with male connectors on the cables, this provides a highly reliasble in – line connection.
BNC CONNECTOR - This is used to make attachment to Thin Ethernet (10BASE2) The AUI connection must be made to a PC controller card, rep[eater or bridge to conform to the IEEE 802.3 specification.
